'Let's Bring Him In' 'Why Loan Him Back?' Fans React Following Reports That Chelsea Are Planning Unusual £75M Bid

Chelsea want to sign Viktor Gyokeres for €90m (£75m) and then loan him back to Sporting Lisbon for the rest of the season, according to Record (via Chelsea Chronicle).

It is believed that the Portuguese champions will only sell Gyokeres in January if a club matches his €100m (£83m) release clause, but there are suggestions that he could be available for a much lower amount at the end of the campaign. If that is true, there could be a scramble for Gyokeres’s signature next summer. With that being the case, Chelsea are seemingly trying to negotiate a deal now to get ahead of the competition. However, fans on X are split on whether the bid they are proposing is a good idea:

Let’s bring him in. We’ll need for next campaign obviously when we’ll be playing Chmapions league

Gyokeres is in huge demand

The Swedish international’s goal record over the past 18 months means he is on the radar of nearly every top European club.

In the Premier League alone, it is believed that Arsenal, Manchester United and even Manchester City are interested in signing Gyokeres, in addition to Chelsea.

Do Chelsea need a new No.9?

Speaking exclusively to ChelseaNews.com, ex-Blues midfielder Gus Poyet said his former club should wait until the summer to make their move for a striker.

Nicolas Jackson has been excellent in front of goal since the start of the season and Poyet fears any new addition midway through the campaign could destabilise the harmony within the squad.
