West Brom boss Carlos Corberan is on the shortlist at Leicester City as they search for their Steve Cooper replacement, as per Give Me Sport.
Leicester City are said to hold a concrete interest in the West Brom boss and are prepared to activate his release clause to bring him to The Premier League outfit.
The Baggies currently sit 7th in the Championship table – they’ve only scored 18 goals in the league but it’s their defensive record that catches the eye. They average 0.6 goals conceded per match and nine clean sheets is the 3rd best in the Championship.

Given how Leicester City have struggled in the Premier League, it’s perhaps no surprise a top defensive coach like Corberan has appeared on their radar.
Give Me Sport states he is one of three main contenders for the job at the King Power. West Brom chief Corberan is alongside Ruud van Nistelrooy and Lee Carsley in the running, but time will tell if the links materialise into anything more concrete.
The Spaniard is said to be keen on the job, and with his modern style of play he may suit the Premier League well. At 41 years of age he is young enough to stick around for a while and implement his philosophy on the club.
A top manager
Corberan has an unbeaten record of 70.5% at West Brom – a record few can match.
As a young yet established manager who got the Baggies to the play-offs last season, and also got Huddersfield Town to a play-off final earlier in his managerial career, he knows how to get a team working.

His turnaround of talisman Josh Maja displays how well he can man manage too, with the Nigerian firing again after a challenging first season back on these shores.
Corberan’s release clause
According to separate reports, West Brom boss Corberan’s release clause is said to be around €2.5m – which equates to just over £2m.
That sum won’t be an issue – the issue will be West Brom’s reluctance to lose a manager of Corberan’s quality. He certainly will not be easily replaced and with the club gunning for promotion, they’ll be reluctant to let him go at any cost.

A departure at any point in the campaign would be a huge blow but before the crucial winter schedule, the Championship side will be eager to fend off any interest in their Spanish boss.
