Liverpool prepare to lock horns with Real Madrid as they aim to keep their perfect record in the UEFA Champions League intact.
The Reds have won each of their four European games under Arne Slot and can take a massive step towards qualification with a win against Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
While the game is set to feature several world-class players from both sides, a lot of the focus will be on Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2025.
Liverpool are aware of Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold, but it now appears as if they have changed their stance on his potential departure.

The Reds remain locked in talks to tie the boyhood scouser down to a new contract but have thus far been unable to do so.
Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold is the worst-kept secret, but the La Liga giants are keen on snapping him up in January due to Dani Carvajal’s ACL injury.
Liverpool have thus far been reluctant to part with him in the summer – let alone in January – but reports from Spain claim they might have made a dramatic U-turn ahead of the showdown at Anfield.
According to Marca, Liverpool are now willing to sell Alexander-Arnold in January and have a brilliant working relationship with Real Madrid, who they contacted earlier in the summer to find out if they are really interested in signing him.

Alexander-Arnold an injury doubt vs Real Madrid
Arne Slot confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the 26-year-old is still not ready to play 90 minutes, which is an indication that he might feature as a substitute.
In his absence, Conor Bradley is set to start at right-back and will be tasked with coming up against Kylian Mbappe.
Whether or not Alexander-Arnold features remains to be seen, but he’ll undoubtedly have a lot more eyeballs than him as usual as he prepares to come up against a team that is desperate to sign him.
