Chelsea are keen on in-form Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap but could be dealt a blow by Man City, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed in a new twist on Monday (25 November) that City are keeping tabs on Delap, 21, after his Etihad Stadium exit in the summer window.
It is believed a buy-back clause was inserted in the deal which took the striker to Portman Road meaning the Premier League champions will have first refusal if Chelsea come forward with a bid.
City also included a sell-on clause, meaning they stand to benefit from any future sale of Delap.
Delap’s value has already sky-rocketed following his promising start to the 2024-25 campaign with promoted Ipswich.
Sources say City will “seriously consider” bringing him back to Manchester if his good form continues.
