Chelsea will do well to not forget about the array of talent they are producing as part of their Cobham academy chain.
Under Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, it has been a clear mission to bring in some of the top young talents in world football.
Chelsea think they have hit the jackpot with Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez, who are both set to join up with the first team next summer.
There is now a doubt from the academy about the pathway to the first team, and this could cause them a problem in terms of locking down their top talents.
It seems this is currently the case with Josh Acheampong, who has been seen numerous times in first team training.

Chelsea making progress with new Josh Acheampong contract
Acheampong is reportedly seen by Chelsea as a ‘top prospect’, however has appeared just once off the bench this season.

He said: “Chelsea and his people have re-engaged in talks over the last month and they are progressing, albeit slowly.
“Acheampong wants a clear career path laid out, he loves Chelsea but doesn’t want to stagnate or be held back, but the club are assuring him that there is a plan for him to become a first-team member if he progresses as they think.
“Chelsea don’t hold players, they have shown that constantly – Lewis Hall great example, if you are good enough you will get your chance either at Chelsea or elsewhere.”
Bayern Munich want to sign Acheampong
A number of top clubs are sniffing around the chance to sign the right-back should Chelsea not come to an agreement.
Bayern Munich have now been linked with Acheampong, and are believed to be ready to offer him first team minutes already.
After seeing youngsters like Tyrique George start games for Chelsea this season, it is unfortunate that the situation has temporarily halted Acheampong’s progress, especially with their injury woes at right-back.
