The Italian is set to be sidelined for months after surgery on a fractured foot suffered in Saturday's 4-0 win over Manchester City, leaving Ange Postecoglou to rely on veteran [Fraser Forster](/topic/fraser-forster) against Roma and beyond.
Rodrigo Bentancur is nailed-on to start against the Serie A side amid a seven-match domestic ban, which began against City, while teenagers Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall can expect to come back into the XI.
Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson were on the bench against City and will likely return to the front three, with Postecoglou facing a choice between Heung-min Son and Dominic Solanke to lead the line against Claudio Ranieri's side.
Teenager striker Will Lankshear is suspended, while Richarlison, Wilson Odobert (both hamstring), Cristian Romero (foot) and Mikey Moore (virus) remain unavailable through injury.
