The winners of the annual Golden Boy awards are being announced on Wednesday afternoon, as Lamine Yamal, Kobbie Mainoo, Arda Güler and Kenan Yildiz are nominated for the main prize.

The Golden Boy Awards are handed out each year by Turin-based outlet Tuttosport, who are revealing the 2024 winners on Wednesday.

As well as celebrating the best young players in European football, there are several other categories involved as well, including the best overall men’s and women’s players, the best coach and the ‘fan favourite’.

When is the Golden Boy award announced?

The winners of the various categories in the 2024 Golden Boy are being announced on Thursday afternoon, with the eventual winner expected to be announced around 16.00 GMT

Who could win 2024 Golden Boy

Tuttosport revealed a 25-long list of nominated players for the 2024 award in October.

Barcelona winger and EURO 2024 champions Lamine Yamal is the odds-on favourite to claim the flagship award. Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo is also expected to rank highly, as are Türkiye duo Arda Güler and Kenan Yildiz of Juventus.

Yildiz is one of only two Serie A players included on the 2024 shortlist, along with Juventus teammate Samuel Mbangula.
