Chelsea are reportedly showing interest in a Wolves player who actually had one of his worst-ever games when the sides met earlier in the season.
Wolves were thrashed 6-2 by Chelsea in their second game of the season.
Wolves went in at half-time at 2-2 that day, but completely fell apart in the second-half, with Noni Madueke scoring a hat-trick. He and Cole Palmer both had a field day down Wolves’ left side.
Wolves have come a long way since then though, and have now gone four games unbeaten and climbed out of the relegation zone.
One man who’s improved a fair bit since that game with Chelsea is Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is now the subject of interest from the Blues.

It’s been claimed this afternoon by Italian journalist Rudy Galetti that Ait-Nouri is now on Chelsea’s radar.
Fans slammed Ait-Nouri for his performance against Chelsea in August, but seemingly his showing that day has not put the west London giants off.
The claim from Galetti is actually that Manchester United are interested in Ait-Nouri. But he adds the player is being ‘closely followed’ by Chelsea too.

Chelsea, of course, already plucked one player from Wolves this year in Pedro Neto, who has had a bright start to his Stamford Bridge career.
Previously, Ait-Nouri has also been on the radars of Manchester City and Liverpool.
Ait-Nouri could leave Wolves in the summer
There was plenty of transfer speculation about Ait-Nouri in the last transfer window, and he likely only stayed because Wolves already sold Max Kilman and Neto.
One gets the feeling that Fosun – with their desire for the club to become self-sustaining – wouldn’t hesitate to make Ait-Nouri the next big sale at Wolves.
The £10 million signing is perhaps the likeliest player to leave for big money next. Joao Gomes could also go, but Wolves might hope to get one more year out of the Brazilian, and the same with Matheus Cunha.

Appearances – 129
Goals – 10
Assists – 10
They both arrived in January 2023, whereas Ait-Nouri has been at Molineux now since 2020. It feels like it could be his ‘time’ to depart in 2025.
And very possibly, Wolves could get a club record fee for the Algeria international given his exciting potential. Just so long as he doesn’t have too many repeats of that Chelsea game.
