Crystal Palace’s 2025 is already looking likely to be a long one with several key players now linked with exiting Selhurst Park.
This would be the last thing Oliver Glasner needs, as his side have currently just one Premier League win in 12 games. It is expected that Glasner retains backing from Eagles chiefs for now, but the longer the club sit in the relegation zone the worse for the Austrian.
Glasner spoke out last week about the need for Crystal Palace to strengthen in January, outlining a wing-back and a forward as two areas to which he wanted additions.
The efforts to strengthen will be somewhat in vain however if Crystal Palace lose star players across the team, as rumours begin to heat up.
Now, Arsenal are reportedly in talks for the crown jewel of Steve Parish’s club.
Arsenal in talks for Adam Wharton
There is a four-player list of Crystal Palace’s star players who are all linked with 2025 big-money exits.
Marc Guehi, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze who Juventus want, are all rumoured to be subjects of interest. Now, Adam Wharton has rejoined this list.

The report comes according to Caught Offside, which claims that ahead of the January transfer window Arsenal has already begun their approach for Wharton.
It is continued that the Gunners have held talks over the possible signing of Wharton – who joined Palace for £22m last January – in January with Mikel Arteta and Co. prepared to make a move.
Crystal Palace are expected to demand a fee of around £54m according to the report, with Wharton’s poor season to date likely playing a part in this valuation.
A move to Arsenal would also see Wharton reunited with England teammate Declan Rice who called Wharton a ‘top level’ talent.
Both Liverpool and as previously reported Manchester City are also keen on Wharton.
Crystal Palace will not want to sell in January
Selling a player like Wharton in January will probably be at the very bottom of Crystal Palace’s to-do list.
This season has been plagued by injuries, with Wharton currently recovering from surgery.
However, even before his surgery, the injury was no doubt affecting Wharton’s performances as he struggled consistently to reach the heights he displayed last season.
When the England international returns, if he is fit, it could be the turning point the Eagles have been waiting for to kick on and escape relegation.
If we had to predict, there is no chance Wharton leaves in January while the Eagles are in a relegation fight – especially not for £54m.
