Arsenal and Chelsea could lock horns in the race to sign a Bundesliga star.
Business is beginning to pick up in the Premier League, as teams settle back into their groove after the international break. The January transfer window is just over a month away from being opened and the rumour mill has started to churn as clubs look to complete their mid-season business.
Arsenal and Chelsea, alongside a host of other top clubs, are said to be in the hunt for a high scoring Bundesliga star - recently, they have both sent scouts to monitor the player’s progress. Meanwhile, West Ham United have reportedly put forth an official transfer offer to sign a Brazilian striker, as head coach Julen Lopetegui looks to bolster his attacking ranks ahead of January.
Arsenal and Chelsea join race for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush
Arsenal and Chelsea have both been credited with an interest in Eintracht Frankfurt ace Omar Marmoush - according to TBR Football, they have both ‘scouted’ the player and are continuing to keep an eye on his progress. Despite this, the two London rivals are far from the only clubs in the race. Fellow Premier League outfits such as Manchester United [via Florian Plettenberg on X], Newcastle United and Manchester City are also thought to be interested in the player, though Liverpool have recently been ruled out of contention.
So far this season, Marmoush has been setting the Bundesliga alight with his performances. He has scored 14 goals and has notched up ten assists over the course of 17 appearances in all competitions thus far, making him the second-highest goal scorer in the division behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. Furthermore, he is also an adaptable player - while he is best suited to playing as a striker, he can also function as a left winger or as an attacking midfielder. As such, any club who manages to snap him up will not only gain a talented forward player, but also a versatile one.
West Ham United submit £34 million ‘bid’ for Igor Jesus
West Ham United have endured a tough season so far under new head coach Julen Lopetegui. Star summer signing Niclas Fullkrug has failed to hit the ground running - therefore, the Hammers could look to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.
One player they have in mind is Botafogo ace Igor Jesus - according to Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte, the Hammers have already put forth a bid of £30 million plus £4 million in add-ons for the player.

At 23 years of age, Jesus’ best years are still well ahead of him. So far in the 2024/25 season, he has made 27 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and racking up a quartet of assists. While primarily a striker, he can also play on the left wing.
While he has enjoyed a decent campaign thus far, his lack of experience in European football presents a risk - West Ham cannot afford to spend big money on another disappointing striker. Nevertheless, Jesus is good enough to have merited a call up to the Brazilian national team - he has won four caps for his country so far, scoring a single goal along the way.
