Everton are set for a chaotic few weeks leading up to the new year.
The Toffees are about to be taken over by the Friedkin Group as they put the finishing touches on their acquisition of Farhad Moshiri’s majority stake.
There could also be a managerial change, too, as Sean Dyche’s men continue to languish towards the relegation.
Everton fans want Dyche sacked and it’s understood the Friedkin Group have drawn up a three-man shortlist to replace him.
Everton are eyeing Porto’s Sergio Conceicao, who is believed to be the number one choice but Graham Potter and Edin Terzic are also potential candidates.
Whilst that process unfolds, the recruitment team are drawing up a list themselves and one of their rumoured midfield targets could now be closer to a move to Merseyside after what his agents just said in the media.

Arthur Melo’s agent rules out move to Brazil in major boost to Everton
Everton have been linked with Juventus’ Arthur Melo in recent weeks and they’re seen as the most likely destination for the Brazilian midfielder.
Now, they’ve just been given a further boost in their bid to sign Arthur this winter as his agent has ruled out a move to Brazil.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
“Arthur has a lot of market in Brazil, but his desire is to stay in Europe,” Federico Pastorello told Calcio Mercato.
“We have some concrete leads, so we hope to see him on the pitch soon because it is truly a mortal sin that a player like that is not used.”
Arthur is yet to make an appearance this season and is near certain to be on the move in January, with Everton clearly well-placed.
Arthur Melo pricetag
When Everton were trying to sign Arthur in the summer, Juve were believed to be demanding around £12.5m.
With his contract now up in just 18 months’ time, that price tag may well have been reduced somewhat, so it’s certainly a feasible deal to do for Everton, who may still be operating on a limited budget.
The Toffees need to prioritize signing a striker this winter, so the potential arrival of Arthur would allow a significant outlay of funds to be spent upfront, where it’s needed most.
A telling few weeks lie ahead on Merseyside.
