Report: £50m Chelsea player could become a target for Juventus in the January transfer window

Juventus could offer one Chelsea fringe player a way out of west London in the new year.

With such a big squad, Enzo Maresca has not been able to give the likes of Ben Chilwell and Christopher Nkunku starts.

In fact, Chilwell is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football this season, with his only game time so far coming in the Carabao Cup.

As for Nkunku, although he has made 11 appearances in the English top flight under Maresca, only one of those have been a start. There is now talk of Nkunku departing Chelsea.

Juventus could make move for Ben Chilwell

Chilwell looks more likely to leave Chelsea in January than Nkunku, with Juventus being a potential destination.

According to TuttoSport, Juventus actually want to sign Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu, who is also of interest to Chelsea, for the left-back position.

However, the same outlet claims that the Old Lady could turn to Chilwell as an alternative to the 20-year-old.

With the £50m England international clearly not part of Maresca’s plans, it would be a good move for him. Manchester United also view Chilwell as a plan B as they look to sign a new left-back as well.

Could Cesare Casadei join Ben Chilwell at Juventus?

Chilwell is not the only Chelsea player who has been linked with a move to Juventus. There has also been talk about the Serie A club being interested in Cesare Casadei.

Like Chilwell, the midfielder has barely kicked a ball this season. He is yet to register a minute in the Premier League either.

If Chilwell does go on to join Juventus, it does not look like Casadei will join him, though.

Casadei is not a priority for Juventus right now, so a move to the Allianz Stadium seems unlikely as things stand.

Still, it would be good for him if he also left Chelsea after seeing very little game time at Stamford Bridge this term.
