Geovany Quenda of Sporting CP
Manchester United have played their first game under the managerial reign of Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese coach could not mastermind a victory against Ipswich Town and it could take some time for the team to understand his style.
One way that Amorim can accelerate his project at Manchester United and add a catalyzing factor is by signing players from Sporting CP who have played under him all this while and are well aware of his tactical setup.

One of those players that Man Utd were linked with some time ago was Geovany Quenda. The young Portuguese winger has a £83.5m release clause in his contract which is quite outlandish for a player of his age.
Now, as per A Bola, the Premier League side are preparing a £50m offer to sign the sensation. At that price, it would make more sense for the Red Devils to sign him and Dan Ashworth could be in negotiations to reunite him with Amorim.
Under Erik ten Hag, United used to play a 4-2-3-1 formation for the past few seasons until recently. A shift from this to the 3-4-3 that Ruben Amorim looks to deploy could take some time to adapt, as seen in Ipswich.
The most important thing with this system is understanding where and how their teammates will be and once the understanding improves on the pitch, the results will slowly yet surely start flowing in for the Portuguese tactician.
Quenda at the right price would be a smart acquisition for Man Utd. Let’s wait and see how the club goes about signing him in the coming months, should Amorim want him and only time will tell how it pans out.
