The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have identified an alternative to first-choice striker target Viktor Gyökeres.
That’s according to **[Diario Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/cambio-objetivo-barca-delantera-inglaterra-dvs-112084166)**, citing information from England, which points towards Barcelona as having set their sights on Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.
It is of course common knowledge that the board at the Camp Nou are on the lookout for reinforcements up top.
This comes with Robert Lewandowski, despite his ongoing excellence across the early months of the new campaign, set to turn 37 next summer.
To date, Sporting CP star Viktor Gyökeres has been widely tipped as Barca’s leading target, with the Swede enjoying nothing short of a remarkable season in Portugal.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Blaugrana appear to be considering alternative options, too.
In the knowledge that a deal for Gyökeres is likely to prove altogether difficult to come by, Deco and co. have earmarked Newcastle’s Alexander Isak as the ideal profile for Hansi Flick’s squad.
So much so that Barcelona are said to be ‘preparing a multimillion-dollar offer for the Swedish attacker, convinced that he can lead their attack in the coming seasons’.
