Manchester City are used to battling it out with Arsenal for the Premier League title.
In City’s Treble-winning season, Arsenal finished five points behind Pep Guardiola’s side in second place.
The Gunners then followed that up by closing the gap to two points as City became the first side to win four consecutive Premier League trophies last season.
Now though, with the latest January transfer window on the horizon, the two clubs could be set to battle it out in the boardroom rather than just on the pitch.

Arsenal hold talks over Adam Wharton transfer move amid Man City links
According to a recent report from Caught Offside, Arsenal have “held some talks” over a potential transfer move for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton – who City and Liverpool are also interested in.
The report then added that the Gunners are prepared to make a move for Wharton in the upcoming January transfer window.

In addition to that, Arsenal want to secure a deal worth around €55m (£45m) for the Englishman – who is open to leaving Selhurst Park – although Palace are likely to ask for €65m (£54m).
Wharton isn’t the only Man City target Arsenal want to sign
Back in June, it was reported that City are interested in signing Wharton, who they view as a long-term heir for Rodri.

The Palace midfielder isn’t the only player on City’s transfer radar that Mikel Arteta has turned his attention to as it was reported earlier this month that Arsenal are eyeing City target Martin Zubimendi.
With Guardiola saying City could sign a midfielder in January after seeing Rodri suffer a season-ending injury against Arsenal back in September, perhaps the upcoming winter window could see the Premier League champions and runners-up embroiled in various transfer battles, either for Wharton or Zubimendi.
