Arsenal and Chelsea hoping to sign Premier League star for £80 million

Arsenal and Chelsea are both interested in acquiring the services of Newcastle United attacking sensation Alexander Isak.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Chelsea are both looking to add more quality to their attack and they are interested in the services of Alexander Isak who has been doing wonders at Newcastle United.

Isak made a name for himself while playing for Real Sociedad before securing a move to the Premier League in the summer of 2022. He has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Tyneside club.

The 25-year-old striker has been a consistent performer for them having scored 40 goals and bagged seven assists in his 79 outings. The Swedish sensation has established himself as a key figure in Eddie Howe’s team and he has five goals and two assists this season.

His contract at Newcastle runs until the summer of 2028 and they are keen on having him around for years to come. While Isak is one of the first names on their team sheet and the Magpies have no intentions of letting him leave, multiple top clubs are still willing to try their luck.

Premier League giants want Isak

Arsenal and Chelsea are two clubs who have been keeping a close eye on Isak’s development at Newcastle. Both London outfits are looking to add more quality to their attack. They want to bring in a world-class goal scorer and the Swedish striker is their priority target.

While they also have their eyes on RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Isak has proven himself in the English top flight which gives him an edge over other targets. The Gunners as well as the Blues were keen on signing him during the summer and they are preparing to once again knock on the doors of the Magpies.

Eddie Howe’s team want a massive £115 million to part ways with one of their best players. Both London clubs do not have any intentions of meeting their demands, they are aiming to try and get the fee down to around £80 million.

But, given his importance in the Newcastle team that is unlikely to happen. While they do have some financial fair play concerns, they are unlikely to let go of one of their stars on the cheap.
