Ricky Gervais has left a comment on Roy Keane following the comedian's appearance on the 'Stick to Football' podcast.

The English actor, known for hit TV shows like The Office and After Life, joined the Overlap squad in their iconic football podcast. Although the guests are often related to football or other sports, Gervais is a different kind of guest.

The comedian has shown to be a fan of football. He was born in Reading and has often weaved Reading FC into his shows. David Brent, the main character in The Office, is a fan of The Royals. However, fans of the BBC show will know his love for the game is sarcastically amplified.

Aside from Reading, Gervais is also involve in National League side York City. Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka, a distillery which the actor co-owns, is the back shirt sponsor for the northern side. Although Gervais is not known to be a football fanatic, he certainly keeps up with the news, as hinted by his comment made on Overlap member Keane.

Jamie Carragher had re-tweeted the post announcing Gervais as the guest on the show with the caption: "Bloody loves football," a quote used in the show. The comedian responded to this by saying: "I'm just glad Roy didn't want to chat to me in the car park."

Gervais is referring to an incident that the ex-Manchester United midfielder got involved with on Sunday. Whilst presenting the Sky Sports show Super Sunday, Keane was spotted offering to take an Ipswich fan out of Portland Road by saying: "I'll wait for you in the car park and we can discuss it."

The Irishman has relations to both United and Ipswich as he was manager at Portman Road for two years. It was a fan of the Tractor Boys who had gotten Keane riled up, leading to the pundit walking over to him and getting in an argument.

Keane left the argument with Jamie Redknapp popping his head in to talk to the supporter as well. No car park brawl ending up happening, but Gervais was able to get a joke out of it.
