The contract [standoff](https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2024/10/23/24277370/josh-acheampong-in-contract-stand-off-with-chelsea-reports) between Chelsea and young defender Josh Acheampong appears to be thawing, with the 18-year-old making an appearance in first-team training this week after being frozen out for the last couple months.
While a new deal has not been (re-)agreed — and thus Acheampong is not among the traveling squad for Thursday’s game against Heidenheim in Germany — surely we’re on the right track if such conciliatory moves are being made.
> “There is not any update in terms of contract or these kind of things. He had a session with us in the last two days with some of the young players. He is not in the squad for tomorrow and we have four or five from the second team with us.”

Those “four or five” are Tyrique George, Sam Rak-Sakyi, Shim Mheuka, Kiano Dyer, and third goalkeeper Lucas Bergström.
Hope to see young Josh among their number soon as well!
