Tottenham have shown an interest in signing PSV Eindhoven star Malik Tilman
Tottenham Hotspur could do some business in the January transfer window after enduring a slow start to the Premier League season.
While there remain question marks over the winter budget having splashed the cash in the past summer transfer window, Daniel Levy must show ambition to compete and help the club achieve Champions League qualification as one of the prime objectives this season.
Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed that Ange Postecoglou would love to sign a creative midfielder when the transfer window reopens in January. And PSV Eindhoven star Malik Tilman has emerged as a target for Tottenham.
Pape Matar Sarr found the back of the net after his initial shot cannoned off a defender's leg and the post
Pape Matar Sarr has grown in stature at Spurs this season.
Malik Tilman caught the eye on loan at PSV Eindhoven from Bayern Munich last term before joining the Eredivisie club permanently for around £10 million before the start of this campaign. Wary of the USA international’s talent and potential, Bayern Munich smartly inserted a £30 million buy back and sell-on clause.
Ex-scout Bryan King has suggested that Pape Matar Sarr could be offloaded by Spurs to make room for Tilman in Ange Postecoglou’s squad. He believes the only way the North Londoners invest in a midfielder is if another player were moved on.
“Players of Tillman’s quality don’t come around at that price very often,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“He has been part of a very successful PSV team over the past two seasons. However, I’d imagine if Spurs were going to bring in this type of player, they’d need to get rid of somebody.
“Therefore, they would have to look to sell at least one of the midfield players. I think it would either be Yves Bissouma or perhaps Sarr who are made available.”
Tottenham have plenty of options in the midfield, with Big Ange constantly rotating his troops in midfield when possible. Young guns Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall are yet to start a Premier League game; yet, the North Londoners are still very keen to add more players to their squad in the position.
Ex-scout thinks Tottenham will offload Pape Sarr to make room for Malik Tilman.
PSV Eindhoven star Malik Tilman is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.
This isn’t the first time Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma have been proposed to potentially exit Tottenham. It is clear Spurs don’t have much room for further additions in the engine room, and so if Tilman was to be signed, it wouldn’t be a shock to see someone other than Sarr being moved on.
Sarr has grown in stature this season, bringing boundless energy, running power and dynamism to midfield either as a starter or off the bench. The Senegalese is only 22 and has shown great signs of promise under Big Ange. Therefore, the Lilywhites would likely be keen to keep hold of him.

Bissouma, could feasibly, be let go at the end of the season. The Malian has been a hit-and-miss signing since arriving from Brighton a couple of years ago, and with the player currently 28, the club may think of cashing him in next year.
Moving on Bissouma would provide more first-team opportunities for Gray and Bergvall whilst allowing the club to continue their strategy of building a young side by signing a more attack-minded talent in Tilman.
