‘At the moment’: Caoimhin Kelleher now shares how Reds feel facing Manchester City after Real Madrid win

Liverpool enjoyed arguably their biggest win of the season so far with a 2-0 victory against Real Madrid.

The Anfield side made the reigning UEFA Champions League holders look ordinary with Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo securing the three points for Liverpool on Merseyside to extend the Reds’ European winning run to five games.

Although Liverpool fans were in awe with Conor Bradley’s performance, Caoimhin Kelleher was another top performer for the Reds, with the Republic of Ireland international denying Kylian Mbappe from the penalty spot at 1-0.

And Kelleher has now shared how the Liverpool squad feel about facing Manchester City on Sunday.

Liverpool have ‘confidence’ heading into Manchester City clash

Speaking to TNT Sports after the win, Kelleher shared that Liverpool have ‘confidence’ going into this weekend’s massive Premier League tie against Pep Guaridola’s side, who are winless in their last five games.

A win on Sunday will take Liverpool 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League going into December, with the Reds in an incredible position to build some real distance between themselves and their most likely title competitor.

And Liverpool’s backup keeper seemed confident in how the squad will go into Sunday’s tie, with the Reds heading into Anfield on the weekend off the back of one of their best wins yet under Slot.

Kelleher said: “Confidence is high within the squad, but we know Man City haven’t been on the best run at the moment, but we’re expecting a really tough test, and it’s important that we keep winning in the league to keep that gap. Winning this is good confidence for the team, and we will try and go again.”

Liverpool will have all the confidence to go full-force at City

This week was always going to be a huge one for Liverpool in their mission to win the Champions League and Premier League, with the final test against City coming up on the weekend.

And having cleared arguably the hardest obstacle in Madrid, Liverpool should have all the confidence in the world to go full-force at City, who based on their recent form could be in for a historic pounding at Anfield.

Indeed, Liverpool will want to send a statement to the rest of the Premier League, and beating City will do just that, especially if they can do it in a convincing manner.
