Liverpool have extended their winning streak in the Champions League by securing a 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday. The Reds won all five matches, scoring 12 and conceding one, and are at the top of the table.
Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 52nd minute before Cody Gakpo doubled the lead 24 minutes later.
Real Madrid could have equalised at hour’s mark, but Kylian Mbappé failed to convert from the spot kick.
[L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Article/La-soiree-des-francais-en-ligue-des-champions-camavinga-surnage-mbappe-coule/1523252) state the 25-year-old France international failed to lead Los Blancos’ attack in the absence of Vinícius Júnior. They add Mbappé misplaced passes, lost the ball on several occasions and failed to trouble Liverpool.
The newspaper says his lack of confidence is ‘glaring and detrimental’ for the La Liga side. They gave Mbappé the lowest rating of 2/10, and the same rating was also given to Real Madrid’s Ferland Mendy and Arda Güler.
Jude Bellingham, Luka Modrić and Brahim Díaz got 3/10, and Federico Valverde, Antonio Rüdiger and Raúl Asencio all were rated 7/10. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Eduardo Camavinga both got 7/10.
L’Equipe gave a rating of 5/10 to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Ryan Gravenberch, Darwin Núñez, Andy Robertson and Curtis Jones, which is the lowest, and a highest of 7/10 to Mac Allister, Caoimhin Kelleher and Conor Bradley. Virgil van Dijk, Luis Díaz and Ibrahima Konaté all got 6/10.
[Marca](https://www.marca.com/) gave a blank rating to Mbappé and Mendy, and two stars to Courtois, Camavinga and Asencio, while the rest received a single star.
Over at Liverpool, Mac Allister was the only one to get three starts. Salah, Jones, Van Dijk, Bradely amd Kelleher got two starts, while Robertson, Gravenberch, Núñez, Luis Díaz and Konaté all were rated single star.
