Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has been speaking about his Chelsea exit and career in general.
Jamal Musiala left Chelsea in 2019, joining Bayern, where he has developed into one of the best attacking players in the world.
The attacking midfielder has five league goals this season from just nine appearances.
Musiala became friends with Levi Colwill when he initially moved to England from Germany, meeting the Chelsea defender at Southampton’s academy.

Jamal Musiala on Chelsea exit
Musiala was born in Germany, but the Bayern man has admitted that leaving Chelsea and England to return there was not an easy decision.
“When I was 16, I was just finishing up my GCSEs, and there was a lot of uncertainty in our family,” he told The Players’ Tribune. “Not about football, but about life.
“Brexit was about to take effect in the U.K., and my mum was worried about how it could affect her career as an expat working in London. We couldn’t really get clear answers. It was stressful.
“Right around that time, Bayern Munich offered us the chance to move back home. Or I should say our ‘first home’. I loved England. I felt part English, if I’m honest. It’s never an easy decision to uproot your life like that, but it really felt like fate. Something about Bayern just felt natural.”

Last month, it was claimed that Chelsea were monitoring Musiala’s contract situation at Bayern. The German’s current deal expires in 2026.
Chelsea will regret losing Jamal Musiala and other academy products
With Musiala going on to develop into a very dangerous attacker and still being just 21 years of age, Chelsea will regret losing him.
Fortunately for Enzo Maresca, attack is not a problem for Chelsea right now. The Blues are the third-highest goalscorers in the Premier League and also have Cole Palmer, who plays in Musiala’s preferred position.
As well as Musiala, there will be frustration over losing Marc Guehi. He has also gone on to develop well since leaving Chelsea, to the point where the club could now try to re-sign him.
Guehi is high on Chelsea’s list and is a player whom they really like. Of course, with Maresca already having Colwill and Wesley Fofana, it may not make much sense for the Crystal Palace player to return to Stamford Bridge.
All in all, it would have been great if Chelsea had managed to keep hold of the likes of Musiala and Guehi, but they have not hurt their careers by leaving west London. They have done the opposite in fact and will have no regrets about departing.
