Man Utd 'offered two Juventus players' for January including ex-Premier League star

Juventus sporting director Cristiano Guintoli has travelled to Manchester to hold talks over potential January deals for Nicolo Fagioli and Douglas Luiz, according to reports. The Serie A giants have been in England this week for their Champions League clash against Aston Villa, a 0-0 draw after Morgan Rogers' stoppage-time winner was controversially disallowed.

Reports in Italy claim Guintoli has extended his stay on British shores and voyaged north to meet representatives of Manchester United and Manchester City.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are keen to offload Fagioli and are actively trying to generate interest in his signature.

The 23-year-old midfielder has featured in 14 of Juve's 18 fixtures this season after serving a seven-month suspension for breaching betting rules last term.

However, he has started just six of his appearances, and Thiago Motta is said to be ready to cash in to raise funds for a new defender and striker.

The report adds that Luiz could also be on the agenda as part of the Old Lady's efforts to boost their budget ahead of January.

It's claimed that Juventus would want to recoup the £42million fee they paid Villa for the Brazilian midfielder's services in the summer.

Meanwhile, the Serie A giants reportedly want at least £17m to part ways with Fagioli and have identified two primary centre-back targets.

Motta is said to be eyeing Paris Saint-Germain's Milan Skriniar, who left Inter Milan last summer.

Benfica's highly rated 21-year-old Antonio Silva has also been mooted as a target after injury ruled Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal out for the remainder of the season.

Motta has endured similar injury woes in attack, with Arek Milik's situation currently uncertain.

The Brazilian-Italian coach has been credited with an interest in reuniting with his former Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

Zirkzee left Italy for United in a £36.5m deal early in the summer transfer window but has scored just once in 18 appearances.

Whether the 23-year-old fits in with the new Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim's long-term plans remains to be seen, as this could pave the way for a reunion with Motta.

United could help Juventus raise funds by taking one of Fagioli or Luiz if their budget allows this winter amid restrictions imposed by the Premier League and UEFA's financial regulations.

Amorim is expected to inject fresh energy into his midfield next year, with 32-year-old duo Christian Eriksen and Casemiro likely to depart.
