This Saturday, Sandro Ramírez will take the pitch alongside UD Las Palmas to take on his old club, [FC Barcelona](https://www.barcablaugranes.com). It won’t be for the first time, but the matchup always seem to leave him nostalgic.
“It’s the club that gave me everything and taught me everything, where I learned a lot, where I developed as a player and as a person,” Sandro said of Barcelona.
A product of Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, Sandro made a handful of appearances for Barcelona’s senior team.
He has scored two goals against Barcelona, although he has won only once against his old club, compared with two draws and six losses. That win was with Málaga CF, when he scored in a 2-0 win.
Sandro thinks he can pull it off once more with Las Palmas.
“This season we have competed in almost every game, proving that we can beat anyone,” he said.
“They dominate many facets of the game, they have possession, they steal the ball very quickly, they go out in transitions, they change direction often... they are one of the biggest teams in the world, they have changed with the new coach, they do things they didn’t do before, but we have to trust in ourselves. We have competed on equal terms with the big teams this season, and that is the idea against Barcelona.”
