Ahead of next summer’s transfer window, both Arsenal and Manchester United could find themselves searching for a striker.
With 12 games under their belt in the Premier League, neither side really find themselves where they would like to be in the table.
Mikel Arteta’s side have struggled with injuries this season with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard missing considerable game time through injury.
However, their issues do not quite compare to those at Man United with Ruben Amorim now taking over from Erik ten Hag’s tenure at the club.
And there is one player in Viktor Gyokeres who has been a topic of discussion between Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown.

Rio Ferdinand says whether Viktor Gyokeres should join Arsenal or Man United
Arsenal have an interest in Gyokeres as they look to add a star striker to their squad after failing to do so last summer.
Former striker Dimitar Berbatov expects Gyokeres to join Man United during the summer’s transfer window.
And speaking on TNT Sports, Ferdinand and Keown were both in agreement given the connection between the pair.
“If he wants to win he goes to Manchester United. No, I’m joking. I think the key point is he knows the manager [Amorim],” said Ferdinand.
“Transitioning into a new league, going in with someone who knows your game and will be able to get the best out of you and you’re going to go somewhere he’s rebuilding and you could be the star of that process… he’ll be licking his lips.”
Sporting CP have put a £67m price tag on Gyokeres, which could well open the door to the likes of Arsenal during the summer window.
But Keown was in agreement with Ferdinand as he expects Gyokeres to follow Amorim to Old Trafford.
“If you think, at the moment, he is playing his best football where this guy [Amorim] took him, he’s gone now. So you wonder whether he’s going to retain that and, if not, he’ll certainly be looking to join him at Man United,” added Keown.
Viktor Gyokeres’ record under Ruben Amorim
Manchester United could find themselves looking for a new striker soon as summer signing Joshua Zirkzee is receiving interest from Juventus ahead of January.
Although it is not believed United will sanction his sale just yet, it does show the dire situation the Red Devils find themselves in up top.
But their new manager, Amorim, certainly knows how to get the best out of Gyokeres who excelled for him during their time together in Lisbon.

Appearances 68
Minutes 5697

Troy Deeney thinks Kai Havertz is better than Gyokeres but the Swede’s record under Amorim would suggest otherwise.
