Report: What Chelsea now plan to do after Reece James' latest injury with player 'devastated'

Chelsea fans have received some more bad news about Reece James following his latest hamstring injury.

Reece James missed Chelsea‘s 2-1 win against Leicester City last weekend because of another hamstring issue.

It has now emerged that James won’t return from injury before the end of December in a major blow to Enzo Maresca.

It is now set to be another season where the defender spends most of his time on the sidelines after making just 10 appearances in the Premier League last term.

Chelsea want Reece James injury nightmare to end

James will want this ongoing battle to stay fit to come to an end. The right-back is missing so much football.

Understandably, according to The Telegraph, James is “devastated” with this latest setback that has sidelined him once again.

He is not the only one who wants these hamstring problems to disappear, though. Chelsea as a club want to put an end to this.

One report from the Daily Mail claims that Chelsea have pledged to get to the bottom of what is causing their captain to pick up so many hamstring injuries.

Who will start at right-back against Aston Villa?

Chelsea face Heidenheim in the Conference League later, looking to make it four wins in the league phase of the competition.

After, the Blues host Aston Villa, who travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday. James will obviously miss the match but Malo Gusto should be back.

Maresca thinks Gusto will be available, so that is a boost for the Chelsea manager. If the Frenchman is fit, then you would expect him to start at right-back.

Wesley Fofana played there last weekend, helping Chelsea to beat his former side Leicester, but the 23-year-old is not a natural right-back and will want to return to central defence and continue his partnership with Levi Colwill.
