Everton striker Beto still remains an option for Juventus in the January transfer window despite the Biaconceri also being interested in Joshua Zirkzee and Evan Ferguson, according to Corrierre dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper reported (28 November, pg 4) that Juve are watching the situation of Manchester United forward Zirkzee, who played for Juve boss Thiago Motta at Bologna.

Brighton striker Evan Ferguson is also noted as being on the Bianconeri’s radar as they look to boost their forward line.

However, they add that Beto is still in consideration. The Guinea-Bissau forward was linked with a loan last month as Juve look to provide competition for Dusan Vlahovic (Quotidiano Sportivo, 14 October).

Everton need a refresh upfront

The Blues have been solid in defence, keeping a clean sheet in four of the last six matches, however, in front of goal they have scored in just two of the last six.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

If they are to avoid another miserable survival battle then they need to address their poor forward line sooner rather than later.

Beto and Calvert-Lewin have scored just three goals between them in the Premier League so far this season and Armando Broja is yet to make his debut for the club due to injury issues.

Beto’s future remains uncertain

There is a chance that Broja can add some contributions when he returns to fitness but given the most goals he has scored in a league season so far is six, it is not enough.

Youssef Chermiti is a promising option that could return soon but at 20-years-old he lacks the experience that the Blues will need and did not contribute in the league in 18 appearances last season, although he did only play 196 total minutes.

The Toffees need to add some quality firepower in the January transfer window, otherwise they will struggle to avoid relegation this time.

In other Everton news, a Sky Sports pundit has claimed that Calvert-Lewis is not good enough.
