Chelsea defender Reece James is set for another extended period on the sidelines because of injury.
Reece James missed the beginning of this season and most of the last one because of a hamstring problem.
During the previous campaign, he actually underwent a hamstring operation. The right-back returned before that campaign concluded but has picked up more problems since then.
Chelsea fans won’t see James before the end of December following his latest setback.

Does Reece James need another operation?
The good news for Chelsea is that James does not need to undergo more surgery.
According to GiveMeSport, the scan that the Englishman recently had shows his hamstring injury is not too severe and that another operation will not be required.
The Blues will still be concerned, though, with their captain having still picked up another injury.
Chelsea’s plan regarding James now is to find out the cause of all of these hamstring issues he is having to deal with.

How does Reece James feel about his latest setback at Chelsea?
Understandably, James is quite upset, with the England international set to spend more time on the sidelines.
It has been reported that James is “devastated” with what has happened. Enzo Maresca will be as well after turning to his skipper in some big games this season.
For example, the Chelsea manager threw him straight into the side for the Blues’ 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, despite James having just returned from a previous injury.
Maresca will now have to rely on Malo Gusto, who has also had a few problems. He missed Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Leicester City last weekend but should be back for Sunday’s game against Aston Villa.
“I think both can be available for Sunday’s game,” Maresca said when talking about Gusto and Pedro Neto on Wednesday.
If not, then Wesley Fofana may have to start at right-back again. The Frenchman played there in his side’s victory at the King Power Stadium despite being a central defender by trade.
