Chelsea and Brighton are both said to be interested in a La Liga starlet.
Another Premier League game week is on the horizon - as Arsenal get ready to take on West Ham United and Manchester City prepare for a titanic tussle with league leaders Liverpool, here are all the biggest rumours from around England’s top division today.
Chelsea are in the ‘race’ to sign a Nigerian wonderkid who currently plays in La Liga - however, Brighton are thought to be among the clubs who are also looking to snap up the 21 year old.
Meanwhile, a midfielder who West Ham signed over the course of the summer transfer window could leave the club as early as January, following a disappointing start to life at the London Stadium.
Chelsea joined in ‘race’ to sign Christantus Uche by Brighton
Chelsea have been credited with an interest in Getafe midfielder Christantus Uche - but they are not the only ones, as Brighton have also apparently entered the hunt for his signature.
According to a report from Nigerian outlet Soccernet, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Bournemouth are all thought to be interested in a move as well. With a price tag of approximately £8.2 million on his head, he is well within the transfer budget of most clubs in the Premier League.
So far this season, Uche has made 15 appearances across all competitions for Getafe, scoring a single goal and notching up a solitary assist along the way.
While he primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, he can also be deployed in a deeper role or as an out and out striker. He has yet to receive a senior team call up to the Nigerian national team, but he has played for their U23s outfit.
Guido Rodriguez could leave West Ham United in January
Argentinian international Guido Rodriguez only joined West Ham in the previous summer transfer window - nevertheless, according to a report from CaughtOffside, the 30-year-old could already be headed for the exit door.
While Rodriguez may go down as a failed signing for the Hammers, they will have no trouble recouping the amount that they paid for him, as they were able to snap him up on a free transfer after his contract at Real Betis expired.
At this point in the campaign, Rodriguez has made 13 appearances in all competitions for the Irons, failing to score a single goal or notch up a single assist. Despite this, he has been a regular fixture of Julen Lopetegui’s team - he has only missed out on the starting XI once in the Premier League this season.

As things stand, West Ham are 14th in the Premier League table with 15 points from 12 games. While they have endured a disappointing start to the season, their spirits have been recently lifted somewhat after they recorded an impressive away win over Newcastle United earlier in the week.
Previous to his time with the Hammers, Rodriguez has played for clubs such as River Plate, Club Tijuana and Club America. He was part of the Argentina squad that won the World Cup in 2022, as well as the Copa America in both 2021 and 2024.
