Everton could target European winning manager soon as 'sacking season' is mooted in report

Everton are going through a really rocky patch at the moment.

Everton are staring down the barrel of yet another relegation battle as they languish towards the foot of the Premier League table – winless in four.

Sean Dyche has been heavily criticised by Everton fans for his pragmatic approach to games as the goals start to really dry up.

In fact, it’s understood the Friedkin Group are considering replacing Dyche when they’re installed as the new owners.

And with that said, it’s just been suggested that they could target a European-winning manager.

Suggestion Everton could target David Moyes soon

According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes was approached by Leicester following the sacking of Steve Cooper.

Ultimately, The Foxes decided to appoint former Manchester United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, leaving Moyes available.

The report then suggests that Moyes, who won the UEFA Conference League last year, is set to be considered by multiple Premier League clubs in the coming weeks.

It’s claimed there could be a ‘sacking season’ next month and indeed, that may relate to Everton, who are set to be taken over by new ownership.

More often than not, new owners want their own man in the dugout, so it seems there’s a genuine chance Moyes could be replacing Dyche in the near future.

Friedkin Group known to have Moyes on shortlist

Everton News exclusively reported earlier this month that The Friedkin Group were planning to appoint Moyes until the end of the season if the situation continued to get worse.

It’s not yet known how bad things need to get for the decision to be made but with Everton currently out of the relegation zone, it seems Dyche is safe, for now.

Though with Manchester United on the weekend and an incredibly tough run of fixtures in the festive period, it seems it might not be too much longer before a change is made.
