Ryan Gravenberch said that Liverpool's win over Real Madrid became "one big Rondo on the pitch" during the second half.
Liverpool preserved its 100 per cent record at the start of the Champions League season with a 2-0 victory over Los Blancos, secured by goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo.
Gravenberch produced another masterful display at the base of the Reds' midfield, and in an interview with Dutch media spoke about how happy he was with the team's overall performance.
"If you look back at the match, I believe we've dominated, especially in the second half," Gravenberch said. "We've also barely given anything away - well, the penalty, of course, good that Caoimh saved it - and after that, it was all really a big Rondo, if I can call it that."
For those unaware, a Rondo is a popular soccer training drill, which consists of a group of players trying to keep possession of the ball while another group of players attempts to take it off them.
Liverpool has won 17 of its 19 matches in all competitions this season, which unsurprisingly puts them top of both the Premier League and the Champions League tables, while an EFL Cup quarter-final is on the schedule in three weeks' time.
Despite the team's incredible start to the campaign, Gravenberch is not getting carried away. "I think everyone should keep both feet on the ground," he said. "We still have a long way to go, we're still in November, and we still have a lot of games to go. But we're in a good flow, and I hope we can keep this up."
Gravenberch added that the team's focus is now firmly this weekend's showdown with Manchester City at Anfield, with no time allocated to celebrating the win over Madrid.
"Of course it's nice to win against Real Madrid," Gravenberch added. "I've heard we haven't won against them in recent times, so of course it's nice to have won 2-0 against them today... Now it's all recovery, we're going to recuperate as a club and we'll be back on Sunday."
