Miguel Almiron could play a key part in Newcastle United’s January transfer plans.
There is no doubt that Newcastle United will want to invest and add to their squad over the January window, but it will all come down to three dreaded letters – PSR.
Profit and Sustainability Rules continue to haunt Newcastle and limit their spending, and Eddie Howe has warned that Newcastle still need to sell to balance their books and avoid a potential points deduction.
Fresh reports claim Newcastle have allowed Almiron to leave in January, which would likely free up space and funds to sign a new winger.
Almiron was close to leaving Newcastle in the summer but ended up staying on Tyneside after potential moves to MLS or Saudi Arabia collapsed.

Newcastle could replace Miguel Almiron with Ben Seghir
Goals have been an issue for Newcastle and part of the problem is the imbalance in the front three. Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes both prefer to play off the left, which has left Eddie Howe playing Joelinton out on the right.
If Almiron is sold, Newcastle would likely sign a new winger in January and sporting director Paul Mitchell already has a replacement in mind.
As reported by The Chronicle, Newcastle are keeping tabs on Monaco winger Eliesse Ben Seghir.

Mitchell spent three years as sporting director at Mitchell. During that time, Ben Seghir was coming through the ranks of their youth team and he has since burst onto the scene.
The 19-year-old winger is now a star player for Monaco having featured in all 17 of their matches so far this season. He has scored five goals and provided three assists from out wide.
Ben Seghir will likely be cheaper than a lot of the other winger options on Newcastle’s radar.
Other wingers Newcastle could target in January
Ben Seghir is only one of several wingers that Newcastle have their eyes on.
Bryan Mbeumo is Newcastle’s dream signing, but Brentford are holding out for a £50m transfer fee which would put a huge dent in the transfer budget.
