Man United's next five fixtures compared to Chelsea, Tottenham and Premier League rivals

Rasmus Hojlund celebrates scoring Manchester United's winner vs Bodo/Glimt

Manchester United are set to continue their busy run-up to Christmas following their 3-2 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Reds began and ended the first half brilliantly as Alejandro Garnacho gave Amorim an early lead with Rasmus Hojlund adding United's second just before the break. Sadly the 40+ minutes in between were hard to watch as the underdogs took the lead through Hakon Evjen and Phillip Zinckernagel before United's striker leveled things.

Hojlund would grab his second of the game shortly after the interval as he poked home in front of the Stretford end with the goal confirmed after a VAR review for offside. Despite a late free kick for the visitors, Hojlund's second proved to be the winner.

With Amorim's first victory now under his belt, MEN Sport has taken a closer look at how the Reds' next five games look in comparison to their Premier League rivals.

United's next five fixtures

December 1 vs Everton (H) at 1.30pm - Premier League

December 4 vs Arsenal (A) at 8.15pm - Premier League

December 7 vs Nottingham Forest (H) at 5.30pm - Premier League

December 12 vs Viktoria Plzen (A) at 5.45pm - Europa League

December 15 vs Manchester City (A) at 4.30pm - Premier League

MEN's verdict - Amorim could have asked for an easier start to his time at Old Trafford but he will be the first to admit that no game as United boss will be easy. Arguably United's biggest tests in the run of fixtures to come will be away from home with trips to Arsenal and Manchester City on the horizon. Both games will be a good measure of how the Reds may, or may not, have improved since the Portuguese's arrival. The trip to Viktoria Plzen is not a given and neither are the home clashes with Everton and Forest but if United are to be successful this season, those matches need to be won.
