Ruben Amorim was impressed with Manchester United's efforts in their Europa League over Bodo/Glimt, but admitted there was still some confusion in his side.

The Red Devils got off to a lightning start under Amorim once again when Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring in less than a minute against their Norwegian opposition. The Argentina international benefitted with a tap-in after Rasmus Hojlund caught goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin in possession inside his own area.

But like against Ipswich, United also had to suffer. Goals from Hakon Evjen and Philip Zinckernagel saw the visitors take the lead at Old Trafford after 23 minutes.

Hojlund proved to be the difference maker once again however. The Denmark striker scored either side of half-time to restore United's lead and to hand Amorim his first win in charge of the club.

Amorim praised with the endeavour of his side over the course of the match. The 39-year-old coach conceded that his team would still require some much-needed improvement, including in possession.

"Of course, I see what what everybody sees, good moments, difficult moments," he told TNT Sports. "There was some confusion in the end trying to hold the result, but the lads did a great job. They ran, they pressed, they tried to do the things we have worked on in the last three days and we won!

"Half of the stadium doesn't know me, I came from Portugal and I did nothing for this club," he added. "Yet the way they make me feel at home is special. I will keep this to the end of my career."

The former Sporting boss further praised his side's application to his philosophy. Speaking more on the game, Amorim said: "We started well, but then suffered two goals in two transitions.

"I like the way the players tried to play our game. Sometimes we won the ball and have had problems in the past giving the ball away too much - the mindset is keeping the ball. They are really trying and I think we deserved the win."
