Paris Saint-Germain opted for a short-term move by loaning Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig for another season. However, next summer, the club is expected to make a long-term call, potentially through a transfer sale.
In September, journalist Christian Falk reported that Manchester City and Liverpool are monitoring Simons’ situation closely. During the summer, he also attracted interest from top clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Manchester United.
Simons has played 11 contests this 2024-25 season, scoring three goals and recording two assists. Nonetheless, the young Dutchman has missed Leipzig’s last seven matches due to an ankle injury.

According to*Sport Bild*(h/tFoot Mercato), Leipzig is eager to sign the attacking midfielder as early as January. The player, currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain with a contract running until 2027, has shown little interest in returning to the French capital.
Intense negotiations are underway, but Leipzig’s major hurdle is the hefty €80 million valuation. This price tag appears to be too steep for the German club.
