Lothar Matthaus, a legendary figure in German football, has once again turned his attention to one of the country’s emerging talents, Angelo Stiller.
The former Bayern Munich star strongly believes that Stiller, currently playing for Stuttgart, would be the perfect addition for his close friend, Hansi Flick, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Matthaus seems certain that Stiller could bolster Barcelona’s midfield, should the club decide to pursue him.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Stiller’s name has been associated with Barcelona. Last summer, during the club’s intense search for midfield reinforcements, the Stuttgart player was linked to a potential move to Barcelona.
While no move materialised then, Matthaus has now brought Stiller back into the spotlight with his glowing endorsement.

According to Matthaus, Stiller’s style of play aligns perfectly with Barcelona’s philosophy. He sees the young midfielder as a player capable of adding value to the Catalan side by organising and stabilising their midfield.
“Stiller would be good for Barça because of his style of play. I trust him and if Barcelona were to sell, his signing would be possible and sensible,” he said as quoted by SPORT.
With questions looming over the future of Frenkie de Jong, Stiller could serve as a top-quality replacement if Barcelona were to make changes in their midfield setup this summer.
A good addition?
Stiller’s rise has been impressive. Having developed in Bayern Munich’s youth academy, where he worked under Hansi Flick, the midfielder sought new opportunities and moved to Stuttgart.
Stiller’s contract with Stuttgart runs until 2027, but his market value is steadily increasing.
At present, it is believed that any deal to secure his services would cost no less than €30 million. For Barcelona, this could represent a solid investment in a young player with proven ability and room to grow further.
