Everton will sack Sean Dyche once The Friedkin Group complete their takeover of the Merseyside outfit, Liverpool Echo journalist Alex McMonnies believes.

While the English manager has the full support of Farhad Moshiri [Sky Sports, 25 November], TFG are set to buy the Toffees from the British-Iranian businessman.

The Blues are currently 15th in the Premier League table, just two points above the relegation zone, and writing in the Liverpool Echo [29 November], McMonnies believes the new owners will relieve the former Burnley head coach of his duties once they arrive.

He wrote: “It would seem that Sean Dyche is running out of time to turn things around for the Toffees, and based on the last few weeks, my gut instinct is that as soon as the Friedkin takeover is completed, the 53-year-old will be dismissed from his position and the Blues will begin searching for their eighth permanent manager in as many years.”

Sean Dyche should be sacked by Dan Friedkin at Everton

TFG need to make a strong statement as soon as they make their way to Goodison, and there’s no better way to make an impression than sacking Dyche, who has lost the backing of the Everton faithful.

If the Toffees want to progress, the few remnants of the Moshiri era must be done away with.

Dyche did exceptionally well when he initially arrived on Merseyside, helping the Blues survive the drop when it looked inevitable.

The 53-year-old was also instrumental last season as Everton were docked points, with many having the Toffees as one of the favourites to go down to the Championship.

Going into the 2024/25 campaign, the Goodison faithful wanted to see the team making some sort of improvement, but what they’ve been served is regression on a plate — the draws against Brentford and West Ham highlighting their plight.

While Dyche hasn’t been helped by his players, the Blues’ squad is evidently good enough not to struggle at the bottom of the league table.

The Toffees’ trip to Manchester United on 1 December will be a tough test for them, and it remains to be seen whether the English head coach’s position at the Merseyside club will be tenable if they lose at Old Trafford.
