Wolves captain Mario Lemina insists “the confidence is back” among his team-mates.
Wanderers have picked up eight points from their last four matches, including wins in the last two games against Southampton and Fulham.
They began the campaign with seven defeats from their opening eight Premier League fixtures, and Lemina praised his side following their recent upturn in results.
“The confidence is back. We can tell that in the training, we’re working really, really well, and everyone is positive,” said the midfielder.
“We believe we can do something better than we did in the previous games. I think we showed we are a good team and we can do better.
“You know the mentality, we never give up. Some people said we were really bad and stuff, but we believe in what we’re doing in training every day, and some people like Rayan (Ait-Nouri) stepped up his level, (Matheus) Cunha, Jorgen (Strand Larsen) – I can name a lot of players that were doing great during this time.”
In the absence of Craig Dawson and Santiago Bueno, Lemina deputised at centre-back in the 4-1 victory at Craven Cottage, and he added: “It’s my club and I will (give) my everything for this club, for the team, and if I have to play centre-back, I have to play goalkeeper, I will do it.”
Lemina earned praise from head coach Gary O’Neil for his display in last Saturday’s victory, who said: “I thought he was excellent there. It’s not that I thought it was excellent for a midfielder playing there, I thought it was an excellent centre-back performance.
“Physically, he has the tools to play there, he’s strong, he’s quick, he’s very good with the ball. I thought it was a real top performance.”
