Newcastle United are allowing 30-year-old star to leave the club in January - a big help for Psr

· November 29 2024, 10:00

Newcastle United are in the process of removing the remaining player from the previous ownership

There are still several players on the Magpies books from when Steve Bruce was manager despite the now Blackpool boss leaving in 2021.

Current Toon boss Eddie Howe has managed to shift some of those players including Jeff Hendrick, Ryan Fraser and Javier Manquillo but many others remain.

These remaining players are a part of why Howe can't spend as freely as he would like as the PSR issues that plagued them last season persist.

Now, Howe is ready to sell another longstanding star who was once highly rated in the Premier League.

Miguel Almiron will be allowed to leave Newcastle United in the January transfer window

Miguel Almiron has been linked with a move away from Newcastle since his rise into form in October 2022. At one point, even Real Madrid were interested in signing the Paraguayan International.

Since that spell of form, Almiron has been poor for the Magpies. Last season he scored just three goals in 33 games.

In this campaign, he has only played 103 minutes in the Premier League.

Now, according to Luke Edwards, Howe is ready to let Almiron leave the club in January and the 30-year-old is keen on a new challenge after falling out of the first team picture.

Miguel Almiron has interest from abroad amid departure talks

Edwards of The Telegraph has reported that there is interest from several teams abroad including teams in the Saudi Pro League and MLS. Argentinian side River Plate are also reportedly interested in Almiron who could be sold for a fee of around £15million.

Daniel Campos, Almiron's agent recently said that his contract with the Magpies wasn't up until 2027 a year later than originally announced.

Edwards also reported that Newcastle have been looking at loan-to-buy options for January which would make the likelihood of Almiron moving on more possible.
