Inter Milan Linked With Shock January Move For Ex PSG & Italy Star

Inter Milan have been linked with a shock move for former PSG and Italy midfielder Marco Verratti in the January transfer window.

Spanish outlet Marca, via FCInterNews, report that the 32-year-old wants out of Qatari side Al-Arabi. However, they note that his high wages would be an issue for European clubs.

Midfielder Verratti is currently playing for Al-Arabi in the Qatar Stars League.

The Italian international joined the Qatari club from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

However, it has not worked out ideally for Veratti and his currently club. Al-Arabi are currently languishing in the bottom end of the Qatari top flight table.

Therefore, Verratti is hoping for a move away. Possibly as early as during the January transfer window.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Serie A would be the likeliest destination for Verratti if he returns to Europe.

Despite being an Italian international and having played for Pescara in Serie B, the 32-year-old has never played for a team in the Italian top flight.

Instead, Verratti joined PSG in the summer of 2012. He spent more than a decade in the French capital.

But the links to Serie A remain. And Marca claim that a shock move to Inter in January could be on the cards.

However, Verratti’s wages would obviously present a significant obstacle. The former PSG man earns around €30 million net per season with Al-Arabi.
