Great news on Alex Valle, game-time can help make his stay permanent

Great news about Alex Valle. Now give him an extended run in the team…

It was reported earlier this month that Barcelona were considering re-calling Alex Valle from his loan spell at Celtic earlier than expected. However yesterday it was revealed that the Catalan giants have no such plans and the highly rated youngster will spend the rest of the season at Celtic, as originally planned.

That’s great news as Valle looks like a very accomplished young player and one who can only make us stronger in a department that we’ve looked vulnerable in for a while. With Greg Taylor’s form being a bit inconsistent lately, it’s surely time that Alex got an extended run in side?

That’s of course totally down to Brendan Rodgers, but Alex deserves that chance as he’s looked the part whenever he’s played. It wouldn’t only make us stronger in a position that’s been our Achilles heel for some time, but it would motivate Greg more knowing that he has serious competition for his starting place.

Alex is highly regarded at Barcelona, the disappointment among their supporters when he was loaned out tells you just that. It’s time we gave him a run in the side to show us all why he’s that highly rated. He looked impressive in his half hour against Club Brugge in midweek and looks set to start tomorrow against Ross County.

Ideally Celtic will be doing all that they can to secure the player on a permanent contract and that isn’t too unlikely a prospect, with the player’s agents having agreed a reasonably low buy-out clause when extending the contract with Barcelona ahead of the one year loan deal to Celtic.

Valle likes playing his football at Celtic and if he is going to be given the game-time that can only increase Celtic’s chances of a permanent deal come the summer. Meanwhile still no news the Greg Taylor -Celtic stalemate – who is going to blink first? Not this guy….

La Liga leaders Barcelona have decided that Alex Valle will remain at Celtic for the rest of the campaign.

Rumours in Spain suggested the Catalans were considering recalling the 20 year old.
