FA Cup third round draw – Day and time, TV channel, live stream, fixtures, ball numbers

The FA Cup third round draw is set to take place on Monday evening, with 64 clubs eagerly awaiting to discover their next opponents. All 20 Premier League teams and the 24 Championship sides will enter the tournament in the next round, joining the remaining 20 clubs who advance from the second round.

Last season's winners, Manchester United, will be eager to retain the trophy under new manager Ruben Amorim. The lowest-ranked teams still in the competition – Gainsborough Trinity, Harborough Town and Kettering Town, all from the seventh-tier – will be hoping for a glamour tie against one of the top teams if they win their second-round matches.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will hope to get off to a positive start in their search for more silverware after starting brightly in the Premier League and Champions League. And Manchester City will look to put their recent malaise behind them with a sight at a deep cup run.

Draw date and time

The draw for the third round is scheduled to take place on Monday (Dec. 2) on the BBC, with coverage starting at 7pm and ending at 7.30pm. The draw will be presented by Kelly Somers, while viewers can expect an ex-pro guest in attendance.

TV info and live stream

UK audiences can watch the draw live on BBC Two or online via the BBC Sport website and BBC iPlayer, as well as all of the Emirates FA Cup social media channels.

Ball numbers

The ball numbers for the draw have not yet been confirmed, but should be revealed closer to the time.

When will fixtures be played?

The FA Cup third round fixtures are expected to be played on the weekend of Saturday, January 11, 2025. Matches are anticipated to take place between Friday, January 10 and Monday, January 13.

Clubs that emerge victorious from the third round will pocket a cool £115,000 from the competition's prize fund. That's enough to give those smaller teams still in contention plenty of incentive to stage an upset.
