One of the most intriguing positions in the Chelsea squad right now is the central striker position.
The No.9 spot has been a long-term issue at Stamford Bridge for many years. Apart from outstanding exceptions such as Didier Drogba and Diego Costa, the Blues have struggled to find a reliable centre-forward.
Remarkably, Chelsea now have a couple of different attackers impressing this season.
Nicolas Jackson is the club’s first-choice striker, and he’s doing an excellent job leading the line. Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku is a fantastic understudy in attack that would start for most teams in Europe, but he’s struggling for minutes in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Marc Guiu is the youngster providing a third option.
Chelsea attacker Nkunku isn’t happy with his lack of league starts, starting one top-flight match this season, but he’s not kicking up a fuss around the club.

Chelsea’s striker plan for January
According to The Athletic, Chelsea are not planning to go and sign a new centre-forward in the upcoming January transfer window.
It is explained that the Blues would only change their mind if a club made an extraordinary offer for Nkunku, or Jackson suffered a long-term injury.
The report says that Chelsea don’t want to sell Nkunku, who they value at £52m.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim wants to sign Chelsea’s Nkunku, plus there’s interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund.
It sounds like the French forward isn’t going anywhere when the transfer window opens in the New Year, which should delight the Blues supporters. He’s still play a key role this season with 11 goals in 19 games across all competitions.
Christopher Nkunku proved Enzo Maresca right against Heidenheim
Maresca thinks Nkunku’s best position is as a No.10. Well, he proved the head coach right with yesterday’s performance in the Conference League versus Heidenheim.
Nkunku has played most of his minutes so far this campaign as the central striker, but he got the chance to play deeper as a No.10 behind Guiu in midweek.
He knitted play together superbly well and arrived into the penalty box to score a great goal. However, Cole Palmer has the No.10 position locked down right now in the Premier League.
