Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has dropped a huge hint where Diogo Dalot could play in the long term.
The Red Devils have had a good start under the Portuguese tactician. They played out a 1-1 Premier League draw at Ipswich Town before beating Bodo/Glimt 3-2 in the Europa League.
United scored within the second minute in both of those games, but they were defensively vulnerable too. The club’s defensive organisation is bound to improve with the 3-4-2-1 set-up.
Ahead of the Everton game on Sunday, Amorim was presented with plenty of questions by reporters and one of those was focused on Diogo Dalot, who was a second-half substitute yesterday.
The 39-year-old said that Dalot is a ‘very powerful’ player, but he is not a machine. He added that the Portuguese is better as a right wing-back and hinted his future will be in the position.
He said (via Beanyman Sports): “He’s very powerful. We have to rotate him sometimes, because he always looks fresh, but he’s not like that, he’s not a machine! I think he plays better on the right, and we will manage to put him there, he’s a very good player.”
