Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Eberechi Eze and Eddie Nketiah will both be involved in Crystal Palace’s matchday squad for tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Newcastle.
Greenwich-born Eze returned to training before last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, but the Austrian boss decided to leave the attacking playmaker out of the squad so he could fully recover from the hamstring injury he picked up in the 2-1 win at Villa Park in the EFL Cup.
Eze will likely come into the starting line-up for youngster Justin Devnney, who scored his very first senior goal for the Eagles last weekend.
Striker Nketiah will also be available again after suffering a hamstring injury, which has kept him out of the last two games against Fulham and Villa.
The Lewisham-born striker is yet to find the back of the net for the Eagles since joining in a deal worth up to £30m in the summer.
Palace play Newcastle on Saturday and then head to Ipswich on Tuesday night for an important clash at the bottom of the Premier League.
They finish off the week next Saturday by hosting Manchester City at Selhurst Park.
Glasner said: “Players have had one more week of training after returning from injuries, so it was very positive. Ebere [Eze] will be in the squad tomorrow, and Eddie Nketiah as well.
“We worked pretty hard on their rehab, and also the medical staff did an amazing job, so that’s why they are available earlier than expected. Both had a good week.
“But it’s the same with other players, like Cheick Doucoure, who returned last week – they have been out for several weeks.
“But it’s good when we enter a three-game week that players are back, so now we have a better situation in the squad.”
