Half of Newcastle United’s back four is made up of former Chelsea players, with Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall coming through their academy.
They are both now England internationals, as Chelsea rue letting two extremely talented players slip through their fingers.
Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall are now thriving at Newcastle United, with the former actually joining the Magpies from Southampton for £32million. The Saints were the first club to give Livramento a chance, and he quickly proved what a talent he is.
That resulted in Newcastle United snapping him up in the summer of 2023, and he was quickly joined at St James’ Park by Hall.
He arrived on loan from Chelsea, with Newcastle agreeing to pay £28million for him the following year. It seemed a lot of money at the time, but Eddie Howe thinks Hall will prove to be a bargain.
That is proving to be the case after a very slow start to his Toon career.

Why Tino Livramento did not talk to Lewis Hall after Newcastle transfer
And it is a Toon career that started with Hall getting the cold shoulder from his former Chelsea pal Livramento.
During an interview with BBC Sport, Livramento has explained why he opted not to speak to Hall for two weeks following his arrival from Stamford Bridge.

Hall: “He didn’t speak to me for like the first two weeks I was here.”
Livramento: “Do you want to know why, yeah? So obviously he’s been at Chelsea for his whole career, so I thought, I’ve left, I’ve been to Southampton, it’s my second move coming to Newcastle. It’s good for him to experience that, first off on his own for a bit, find his feet, see what it’s all about. Obviously when I’ve seen him in training, I was giving him a bit, making him feel comfortable.”
Livramento then called Hall ‘childish’, after the left-back admitted he simply replied with an emoji when he received a text from the £32million man asking him if he was joining Newcastle United.
Newcastle could have their fullbacks for the next 10 years
There is method to Livramento’s madness, having already experienced what it is like to leave Chelsea and go your own way.
However, it does seem like a very strange approach, but at least there was a reason behind. It was not just a case of Livramento being rude or ignorant!
Hall is no longer getting the silent treatment, while the duo are consistently named together in the Newcastle United starting XI. Livramento is nailing down the right-back position, while Hall is proving he can be a consistent Premier League starter.
Signing both of them for £60million was a PSR masterstroke from Newcastle, as they have got their fullbacks sorted for the next decade. Livramento is 22-years-old, while Lewis Hall is only 20-years-old.
It was a brilliant bit of business by the club, despite both deals being criticised at the time. Now Newcastle are reaping the rewards, while the duo can now laugh about Hall’s first two weeks on Tyneside.
