Barcelona star Andreas Christensen has this week spoken out regarding his plans for the future.
This comes amid recent speculation linking the Danish international with an imminent move away from Catalunya’s capital.
Amid another injury-ravaged campaign to date, rumours have mounted in the media of late that the Barcelona brass are ready to cash in on Christensen.
The 28-year-old boasts a number of [suitors](https://www.90min.com/premier-league-trio-andreas-christensen-uncertain-barcelona-future) in the Premier League, some of whom it is understood could be willing to table an offer for Christensen as early as January.
Speaking to the media late this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his future at the Camp Nou was quickly put to the former Chelsea man himself.
And, during an interview with Denmark’s TV 2 Sport, as cited by **[Diario Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/andreas-christensen-habla-futuro-claro-barca-112164228)**, Christensen went on to play down the speculation surrounding his name:
“You can’t do anything but smile when you don’t hear anything. I can only talk about the conversations I’ve had with the club and so far they’ve only told me to recover well and that they are looking forward to my return to the pitch.”
Asked directly if he hopes to remain a Barcelona player, the versatile defender concluded:
“Yes, of course.”
