Chelsea ace Nicolas Jackson has matched key Mohamed Salah record that nobody is talking about

Chelsea attacker Nicolas Jackson has the joint-best shot conversion rate in the Premier League, sitting on par with Mohamed Salah.

Jackson is three goals behind Salah in the Premier League top scorers chart, having fired home seven in 12 matches for the Blues. Erling Haaland leads the way with 12 goals in as many games but does not make the top three in terms of shot efficiency.

Out of those who have mustered 25 shots or more so far, both Jackson and Salah attain a 25 per cent accuracy rating. Third is Matheus Cunha of Wolves with 20 per cent, the attacker netting the same amount as Jackson but taking eight more shots to do so.

Liverpool ace Salah has fired in 40 shots in total, with 10 goals flying in. Jackson’s seven in 28 shots means he attains the same 25 per cent ratio.

Haaland has had the most shots out of any player in the Premier League this season by a considerable distance, his 62 trumping the next-highest tally of 52 from Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo.

Salah sits third with Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer in fourth with 38 shots on goal, from which he has yielded seven goals - an 18 per cent conversion rate. Jackson’s latest goal came in last weekend’s 2-1 win away at Leicester City.

Speaking after the game, head coach Enzo Maresca was full of praise for the 23-year-old, who also has provided three assists this season. “He is helping us a lot in the way we want to play,” he said.

“He’s doing fantastic. Everyone at the beginning, no one expected this from Nico. Goals, assists, the way we want to press, he’s always aggressive, always there, he’s doing fantastic.”

Jackson is bettering his ratio of last season so far, when he scored 17 goals in 44 matches across all competitions. The striker is meanwhile on a suspension tightrope with one further yellow card within the next seven Premier League matches seeing him serve a one-match ban.
