Foundation’s cancer rehabilitation programme recognised at Sports Business Awards

Our Foundation’s _Move4You_ programme has been named Best Sports Community Scheme amongst UK football clubs at today’s Sport Business Awards in London.

The Awards recognise and reward achievement by the teams behind the scenes that facilitate sporting excellence and endeavours.

_Move4You_ is a transformative programme of physical activity sessions for residents of Haringey, Enfield and surrounding boroughs who have had a cancer diagnosis in the last five years.

Sessions are free and delivered one-to-one and in groups, as well as online, tailored according to the needs of each individual. Once a course is completed, participants are supported to continue being active through referrals to open gym classes, yoga sessions and other group activities.

Archie Gray [visited a session last month](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2024/october/archie-gray-joins-foundation-s-physical-activity-sessions-for-people-with-cancer/) and heard from current participants about the positive impact of the programme.

Spurs supporter and Haringey resident Joanna Ashmore, who was referred after surgery and immunotherapy for bowel cancer, said: “The side effects from my treatment have lasted way longer than the treatment itself, but I’m already starting to see positive changes thanks to _Move4You_. It’s everything I’ve wanted because the Foundation team is so interested in every part of my journey and activities are tailored for me. I’ve honestly felt so happy since I started doing these sessions - they’re fabulous.”
