Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has expressed his frustration after suffering an injury ahead of the clash against Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's side will travel to face Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League this Sunday. City go into the game having conceded a three-goal lead to draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League in midweek.
City have now gone six matches without a win in all competitions, a run that also includes five defeats in a row before the draw with Feyenoord. Liverpool, meanwhile, continued their impressive start to the season with a win over Real Madrid in Europe in midweek, and are also eight points ahead of City in the Premier League table.
The game saw Konate suffer a knee injury in the closing moments of the contest at Anfield. The centre-back received treatment after the final whistle and was seen hobbling as he made his way down the tunnel.

Days after the game, Konate has confirmed that he will be on the sidelines for the foreseeable while he recovers from the injury. Despite no timeframe being given for when Liverpool expect Konate to return, the France international will not be available to face City at Anfield on Sunday.
"So frustrating to pick up this injury right at the end of a great game on Wednesday night," wrote Konate on Instagram.
"Now we start the recovery process but one thing I promise is I will come back and be the best I can be once again.
"Thank you for the amazing support at Anfield. Inshallah we will keep going and I will support the team every step of the way."
With Liverpool now without Konate for the clash against City, Arne Slot will be forced to make at least one change to his team. The Merseyside club are likely to start either Jarell Quansah or Joe Gomez at centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk against City.
